Marseille natural history museum
The history of Mankind.
The Marseille natural history museum was created in 1819 thanks to the Marquis de Montgrand, the mayor and the Comte de Villeneuve-Bargemon, the Prefet.
Fifty years later, the natural history museum moved to the right wing of the Palais Longchamp, built to celebrate the Arts and Sciences.
The museum now has a three-fold mission: scientific, cultural and educational.
