Velodrome Stadium

Olympic Stadium!
Since its inauguration in 1937, the Stade Velodrome (Stadium) is a major venue associated with some of sport's finest hours. It originally hosted cycling races, hence the name.
The 35,000-seater stadium has benefited from several extensions in the twentieth century, the most notable change occurring before the 1998 football World Cup, with an increase of capacity to 60,000 places.
Internationally known for hosting Olympique de Marseille football matches, it also hosts major events like big rugby matches and concerts.
